Thank you Washington County Gaming Commission for investing in Washington County nonprofits that provide services and supports to the county and its residents.  Unified Community Connections is honored to be one of the 75 organizations awarded funds that we will use to help individuals with disabilities participate and engage within their community to aid in building confidence and social skills.

Unified Community Connections was awarded $4,928 in funds from the Washington County Gaming Commission to purchase community theater tickets for the individuals with disabilities enrolled in its Community Development Services program in Washington County.  Each individual will be able to attend two shows throughout the year with this donation.    

Attending plays and musicals provide an opportunity for people with disabilities to stimulate their imagination, observe social communication, and experience storytelling in an entertaining and live context.  In addition to allowing them a chance to explore and engage within their community which promotes self-confidence and self-enrichment.  This gift will help improve the quality of life for the individuals with disabilities enrolled in our CDS program as well as the quality of life for the arts community in Washington County.
