Rally to Save our DD Services

The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Coalition has organized a rally to “Save Our DD Services”!!  Join advocates Monday night in Annapolis.  Here are the details:

▪️Date: Monday, February 3rd, 2025
▪️Time: 7:00 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
▪️Location: Lawyers Mall, Annapolis, MD, directly in front of the State House (100 State Circle)
▪️Who: Everyone affected by The Governor’s draft budget proposal which contains severe funding cuts for DD services. This includes people with disabilities, their families, providers, and allies.
▪️Signs: The DD Coalition has designed signs and there should be enough for anyone who wants one.
▪️What to Wear: This is a “White Out”. In solidarity, they encourage everyone to wear white to symbolize our unity and commitment to protecting IDD services.

According to a recent poll conducted by The Washington Post and the University of Maryland’s Center for Democracy and Civic Engagement (among 1,002 registered Maryland voters) 74% of those polled “oppose cutting $200 million from the budget helping people with developmental disabilities.” Among all of the budget actions, this ranks the highest in those expressing opposition to cuts proposed!
