Unified Community Connections and the members of the Golf Classic committee have continued to monitor the situation surrounding COVID-19. Although we were hopeful to postpone our 15th Annual Golf Classic for a later date regrettably now we must cancel it.
We want to thank the Elkridge Club for doing everything they could to accommodate us, but with state-imposed restrictions still in place we would not be able to host the kind of tournament that we had hoped. This decision was not an easy one to make, but the safety of our supporters, staff, and community remains a top priority.
The COVID-19 pandemic has forced many businesses to close, families to stay apart, and lives to change. But, for essential services like those provided by Unified, we have remained committed to our mission. As a direct service provider for people with a wide variety of disabilities, our staff have been putting themselves on the front lines every day in order to keep the individuals we support safe and healthy.
The Golf Classic serves as a major fundraiser for Unified and we rely on the money raised from our tournament to continue to provide top quality and consistent care to one of the community’s most vulnerable and medically fragile populations. We are deeply grateful for your dedication to Unified’s mission through your support of this year’s event — we could not do it without you. Therefore, we are hoping that you will continue with your support.
Please know that if you choose to maintain your commitment, it will be fully tax deductible and provide vital support for people with disabilities during this pandemic.
We share your disappointment in not being able to have our Golf Classic this year, but we appreciate your understanding. Please know that we want to be respectful of you and your commitment to Unified. If you have any questions or would like your donation returned to you, please contact me directly.
We remain incredibly grateful for your support and we look forward to resuming with our traditional tournament in 2021.
