United Cerebral Palsy of Central Maryland (UCP-CM) received a $140,000 bequest from the estate of Mabel Fisher whose daughter received services from UCP-CM in Hagerstown. UCP-CM was one of five charities named in Mrs. Fisher’s will, and we are very grateful to Mrs. Fisher and her generosity. UCP-CM also received a $48,000 gift from the estate of Charles A. Schulte for which we are also very grateful. Leaving a Legacy in the form of a bequest in one’s will provides the unique opportunity to ensure that organizations that are important to you can continue to make a difference in your community in the future.
People are often unaware of the benefits of making a charitable gift in their will or estate plan. A planned gift enables you to continue to help people in need or promote a favorite cause. There may also be tax and income benefits for your heirs for these gifts. Please remember UCP-CM in your estate plans. Call Director of Development Lauren Magee at 410-484-4540, ext. 2461 with any questions about charitable giving.
